Try The Trend: Color Blocking Baubles

Have you tried this fashion trend on for size yet? We’re talking color blocking. That is, stacking strong, bold pops of bright items on top of one another. Think lime-green ankle-length trousers and a breezy hot-pink top, and the like. We love it for its versatility—if red jeans and a purple jacket don’t fit your fancy, choose a teal pencil skirt and royal blue blouse. The rainbow-hued sky is the limit! It’s also a good excuse to wear your favorite color—a lot. There isn’t a designer that hasn’t sent his or her own combination down the runway—this is a must-do. Carry the color from threads to baubles and load up on color-blocking accessories. Here, our top 10 favorite color block pieces sure to infuse any winter wardrobe with sunshine-y shades.

One of the most celeb-worn color-block was Gucci’s silk-satin numbers from a few seasons ago. The color highlights were exactly what we find in both Piara By Elaine J’s gold, amethyst and carnelian necklace and Kanupriya amethyst triple gemstone ring set. We’re still loving them all.

There is such thing as the casual color block and its accessorizing counterpart is Blu Bijoux’s magenta, burgundy and coral gold skull wrap bracelet.

We love the hues of blues found in Julie Vos’s gold, chalcedony and turquoise Curacao clip earrings and Mystic Light’s rose gold, diamond, lapis and turquoise enamel station ring.

Ted Rossi nails it with this hot pink and turquoise python cuff that will appropriately amplify an already lively look. Or if you’re into a richer (albeit no less subtle) shade, Ayana Designs’s crystal and purple cord bracelet is your wrist bling of choice.

If you tend to shy away from the blindly beautiful neon, there’s color-blocking hope for you yet. Blu Bijoux takes a more subdued approach with its navy, yellow and coral beaded bib necklace.

An easy way to get your color-block on is with bangles. Stock up on these Janna Conner Designs gold and enamel small charm bangle bracelets in every color and you’re set. Or keep it simple and single with this square root bracelet from Sandy Hyun.
