Pretty in Pastel: The Spring Looks We Can’t Wait To Wear

pastel2t

We may be jumping the unbloomed gun here, but we can’t help but get excited about spring, for a myriad of reasons. One, we’ve read about as many winter wardrobe how-tos as we can manage in one month—we get it, tights, booties and a jewel-toned frock. Secondly, it’s just too cold and our skin could stand to see the sun. But most importantly, new season means new fashion, for which we’re always ready to rock. We’re especially thrilled for what 2013’s spring season has to offer. Last fall at Fashion Week, designers pumped out some seriously strong looks for spring, with sharp architectural shapes, heavy light-and-dark contrasts and slick-and-sturdy fabrics. Which only means one thing: almost anything goes for spring this [...] Read more

Designer Interview - Miriam Salat and Her Globally Inspired Collection

We are so excited about the newest addition to the Max and Chloe collection of must-have baubles! Introducing Miriam Salat, a former civil engineer turned globally inspired jewelry designer. Born of a pure passion for self-expression, the Miriam Salat collections comprise a bohemian-chic offering of resin, sterling silver, and 18k gold vermeil pieces. Salat’s worldwide cultural excursions have shaped her designs. There’s an air of nostalgic wanderlust about her jewelry, sure to inspire the romantic gypsy in all of us. Think deep tones, glossy lacquered bangles bedecked in aptly placed crystals, a subdued sultriness, and a dash of glam. You’ll find influences from nature (ocean-blue hues and coral-like cubic zirconia), geometric shapes and studies in contrasts. Quite possibly the most stunning [...] Read more

New York Fashion Week - What To Wear

F148037534

The Big Apple is a-buzz with the happenings, haute-ness and probably insane amounts of the behind-the-scenes drama (where’s Kelly Cutrone’s reality show when you need it?) of the latest installment of New York Fashion Week. To say this is one of the industry’s most anticipated annual events would be a severe understatement: the world descends upon Manhattan to take over fashion’s epicenter for a solid week. There’s much to watch. We’re most excited for Alexander Wang and John Galliano’s debut collection for Oscar de la Renta, but we will be equally as tuned in to who’s sitting front row (and keeping tabs on Kim and Kanye’s whereabouts throughout the week). While here at Jewelry Dose we do a lot of event-inspired [...] Read more

Grammy Gold Goes Pink

The 2009 Grammy Awards were certainly a feast for the eyes: Katy Perry’s old Hollywood glamour set the red carpet on fire; Gwyneth Paltrow was chic and sequined as she introduced Radiohead’s performance; and Kany West’s pseudo-mullet was…an interesting style choice. Couture ran the gamut this year, and, most importantly, the talent of the prestigious award nominees was not in short supply. One starburst of such talent who took the stage was the Dreamgirls star and the night’s winner for Best R&B Album, Jennifer Hudson. From her gracious award acceptance to her tearful performance of “You Pulled Me Through,” Hudson rocked the venue with her presence. Only her second performance since the string of tragedies involving her family, the emotional turmoil [...] Read more
