In the past, Jewelry Dose has brought you some of the best bauble looks from the runway, in hopes that you, too, could make them your reality. Well, we’re back at it again, with the New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2013 collections well underway in Manhattan. Despite the impending storm, the show must go on. There are trends to observe, color palettes to forecast and street style to steal! So far, we die for Erin Fetherston’s noir-hippie romance and Edun’s glam-grunge, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Taking a cue from our favorites so far, we’ve highlighted the week’s first-to-present, drop-dead designer themes and their accompanying accessorizing. Enjoy, fashionistas!
The City of the Future at Kenneth Cole Collection
Kenneth Cole (who hadn’t seen a NYFW in seven years) sent metal plate and leather chokers down the runway in his new Collection line. Emulate the designer’s muse, and pair your tailored menswear inspirations with this Karen London Cleopatra collar necklace.
New-Age Rock ‘n Roll at Edun
Edun’s neo-punk was a mixture of ‘90s Nirvana, biker-chic and a look ahead to the next grunge fashion phase. Pull off your best new-Millennium Courtney Love in a Sara Designs box chain wrap bracelet.
Flower Child Grows Up at Erin Fetherston
There was a sweet sophistication to Erin Fetherston’s deeply nostalgic 2013 F/W collection (like a haute hippie attended a modern 1930s-inspired cocktail party). While all models presented sans jewelry, we’d venture to say that had they been wearing accessories, said accessories would look something like Yvone Christa’s black bone swirling flower drop earrings and David Aubrey black carnation necklace.
The Empire Strikes Back at Nicholas K
If you ever plan on exploring a galaxy far, far away, Nicolas K has you covered. For her 2013 F/W collection, the designer showed draped galactic safari gear (which, to be honest, we’d wear all over town). The only natural choice for an accessory? Crystals, of course. And large ones, at that. Charge up your look in Allison Daniel’s snaked agate necklace or Dara Ettinger’s Jacinda citrine cluster necklace.
