The Big Apple is a-buzz with the happenings, haute-ness and probably insane amounts of the behind-the-scenes drama (where’s Kelly Cutrone’s reality show when you need it?) of the latest installment of New York Fashion Week. To say this is one of the industry’s most anticipated annual events would be a severe understatement: the world descends upon Manhattan to take over fashion’s epicenter for a solid week.
There’s much to watch. We’re most excited for Alexander Wang and John Galliano’s debut collection for Oscar de la Renta, but we will be equally as tuned in to who’s sitting front row (and keeping tabs on Kim and Kanye’s whereabouts throughout the week).
While here at Jewelry Dose we do a lot of event-inspired post coverage, we’re taking the initiative this week to preemptively prep you for the stylish week ahead, with our top suggestions of what to wear should you be a lucky one to attend any of the events. These suggestions would also be appropriate if, like us, you’ll be living vicariously through the Internet, furiously flipping through endless slideshows of stunning imagery. To get your mouse-clicking fingers warmed up, check out our own selection below of what to be caught dead in at NYFW.
This week was made for chic chicas like you to make statements. Do so in Karla Deras For Roman Luxe’s gold half oval tube and galactic nugget pendant.
If you’re smart, you’ll be running around in flat, somewhat sensible shoes. So bring the attention up top with these Belair Blue druzy triple drop earrings.
Fashion doesn’t have to be complicated. Pull off effortless style in these A.V. Max set of stackable gold cuff bracelets.
You can never go wrong in basic black. This Roman Luxe crystal and jet triangle ring adds an uneven edgy vibe for the likes of an Alexander Wang or 3.1 Phillip Lim show.
This David Aubrey mixed link necklace is so classic we can hardly stand it. Wear it with literally anything at all and you’ll fit in with the fashionable set.
Yes, tribal is still in (you might even see new takes on the runway). Bring your own print in Bita Pourtavoosi antique silver mola spike cuff.
Of course there are the post-show parties. You’ll need these Miriam Salat black, gold and CZ long feather earrings.
There’s something about a strong, standalone statement ring that pulls a look together. Melinda Maria gunmetal and gold Drew ring is the one.
Downtown, midtown, uptown. Wherever the show, these pear-shaped mirror earrings from Meghna Designs will carry you around town in style.
And show your progressive side in this Dalita Lasso white bronze knuckle ring. Fashion’s about experimenting, right?
