This week, we’re back at our style stalking. But this time, we’re taking it to the streets of Manhattan, where fashion’s most wanted, most captured and most, well, everything are deciding the future of what we’ll wear come fall. Yes, they’re kind of a big deal. We all know just how influential the designer runway shows are—we still salivate over each collection. But as of late, what we witness off the catwalk can prove to be just as inspiring as what we see on. Here, our two top picks from what we’ve seen on the streets so far this week.
Style blogger Natasha Steven of Natachasteven.com
French style writer Natasha Steven blogs about fashion while hitting the streets of NYC, where she now calls home. She chronicles her style savvy on her eponymous site, as well as her comings and going about town. Thankfully, she channeled an updated Annie Hall for her foray into the first day of shows, and snapped a few pics. What we learn from her is how to properly layer mix-n-match necklaces (as well as lace, plaid and color blocks). Your best Natacha impression would look something like this: ABS mixed metals braided necklace, Janis By Janis Savitt crystal ring necklace, Marie Chavez three-ring necklace, KC Designs’ diamond bar necklace, and Genevive By CZC’s bezel tear drop pear necklace.
Tommy Ton for Style.com
Want to witness fantastic photography? Click on over to Tommy Ton’s Street Style section of the Style.com website—the imagery is heavenly haute. Tommy Ton captured a few glamorous gal as they made their way through the tents. We adored how this style maven kept it simple in denim, black suede stiletto booties, classic black leather handbag and fur. Her accessory? An oversized flat gold cocktail ring. When you’re wearing a lot of volume in your clothing (large fur coats with standup collars, slouchy booties, boyfriend denim, etc.), balance it out with jewelry that sits away fro the face, like bracelets and rings. Do your version in this SKU flat crystal Roman coin.
