The 2009 Grammy Awards were certainly a feast for the eyes: Katy Perry’s old Hollywood glamour set the red carpet on fire; Gwyneth Paltrow was chic and sequined as she introduced Radiohead’s performance; and Kany West’s pseudo-mullet was…an interesting style choice. Couture ran the gamut this year, and, most importantly, the talent of the prestigious award nominees was not in short supply.
One starburst of such talent who took the stage was the Dreamgirls star and the night’s winner for Best R&B Album, Jennifer Hudson. From her gracious award acceptance to her tearful performance of “You Pulled Me Through,” Hudson rocked the venue with her presence. Only her second performance since the string of tragedies involving her family, the emotional turmoil she felt must have been grueling. She did not hide the fact that certain members of her family could not physically share the victory with her, but her resolve that they were with her, somehow, was a touching aspect of the night.
Her strength showed through her resonating vocal performance, and we had to stop and acknowledge her stunning appearance. We were especially enamored with the pink chandelier earrings she donned during her performance, set against a simple sequined black gown. The color looks spectacular over her skin tone, and the great thing about pink hues is that they are so complementary on everyone. We have several stunning pieces for the ears, following Miss Hudson’s dramatic chandelier trend, to ensure that you’re red carpet ready- no matter the occasion.
Jami Rodriguez Love Hoops are not only a beautiful set of earrings, but they’re also a hot commodity for the closely approaching Valentine’s Day. Strung with coral and pink jade beads, these hoops feature a small and sweet 14K gold fill heart at each center.
Calico Juno Peridot and Citrine Victorian Earrings are a more understated, yet still dazzling, choice of earring within this hot style trend. Small droplets of clear citrine offset the tiny pink tourmaline clusters, creating a delectable color combination
Gerard Yosca Ruby Earrings are definitely a “look at me” pair to wear. These 2 inch long beauties are chandelier style, and are bold with deep red crystal and cabochon droplets.
Calico Juno Ruby Drop Earrings feature a simple ruby stone, with a surrounding flourish of sterling silver or 14K gold fill.
Wendy Mink Ruby Cluster Earrings will steal the show. These 22K gold vermeil earrings have the same drama to them as Jennifer’s, and have a rich, voluptuous quality. With a plethora of small ruby stones and finished off with a pointed carnelian stone, you’ll no doubt feel like a star wearing them.
