The Pure Delight of Twinkling Stars

A sky filled with twinkling stars can sometimes seem like a fairy tale. Wouldn’t it be extraordinary to take a handful of the most beautiful stars in the universe and gently place each one of them on a stark tree during winter?

The beauty of L.A’s Chandelier Tree in Silver Lake comes as close to this magic as possible. It started as a rescue mission involving an unwanted, but very beautiful chandelier. The creativity combined with the desire to save the chandelier sparked new directions as the project slowly evolved into the famous and beloved Chandelier Tree.

People of all ages love to visit the Chandelier Tree to simply gaze at its beauty and share in the wonder of its creation. Children love to take pictures with the tree as keepsakes, and they return again and again with their friends and family.

The Chandelier Tree can also serve as an inspiration for children’s art and design projects at home, or in school. This suggestion includes children of all ages.

You might even consider starting a public art project featuring a unique Chandelier Tree exhibit for your own pleasure, or as a community outreach event to support a worthwhile cause.

New York’s Majestic Metropolitan Opera House

For years audiences continue to take great delight in the Met’s dazzling crystal chandelier created from 49,000 pieces of fine cut crystal. Six years ago, all of the crystals were carefully replaced with new crystals from Swarovski in Austria.

For over one hundred years, Swarovski has been creating fine lead crystal designs based on tradition and yet, embracing the trends of today.

The collections feature luxury jewelry, watches, collectibles, home decor, elegant lighting fixtures, and so much more. Based on the company’s capabilities and history, it’s no surprise that Swarovski was selected by the Met.

For some fortunate collectors, it was the right place at the right time when the Met’s original chandelier crystals were offered for sale. Imagine owning a delicate crystal work of art that will always hold a special piece in history.

From its humble beginnings in history as a source of light, the chandelier has evolved into a welcome addition of light and beauty in our homes, museums, hotels, places of worship, and in some cases even corporate boardrooms.
