Dust off your shillelaghs and get ready for all the corned beef and cabbage you can eat because tomorrow we all get to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Whether or not they are of Irish ancestry, people all over the world have adopted St. Patty’s Day traditions and celebrations, and we at Max & Chloe are no exception!
Traditionally, a symbol of St. Patrick’s Day is the shamrock, a three-leaf clover used by St. Patrick to represent the Christian belief of the Holy Trinity. For some, the shamrock still holds this symbolism; while to others, it represents a mere good luck symbol. Either way, we can’t deny that shamrocks are aesthetically pleasing. Take, for example, Jennifer Zeuner Sterling Silver Mini Clover Pendant. This necklace features the beautiful clover design plus a diamond accent that positively sparkles. Or, for a slightly different approach to wearing shamrocks, you can dazzle the masses with Willa M Lucky Key Earrings. These pieces include fantastic clover charms as well as tiny keys as a slightly more understated way to dress for the festivities.
Another common convention that accompanies St. Patty’s Day is the custom of wearing green (and turning anything else green that isn’t green already.) This tradition comes from the fact that Ireland is the Emerald Isle. Anything relating to Ireland is usually associated with the color green. Even if you decide not to enrobe in full-on green attire, a few festive accessories are always appreciated. We really like Michelle Roy’s Agate Necklace because the green agate stones have a sort of iridescent look to them that will stand out, even against an entirely emerald ensemble. Also, the Noir Green Faceted Ring will really make a statement as the hefty green glass ring boasts a glimmering cubic zirconia stone at its center.
However you choose to celebrate, we hope the luck of the Irish finds you in good health and good company. Erin Go Bragh!
