What to Wear: St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner. Though, it may be tempting to find a sexy leprechaun costume, carry a pot of gold and drink green beer, there are much less obvious ways to celebrate and remain stylish at the same time.

Change the shade. Instead of wearing bright Kelly green so everyone knows you’re spirited, why don’t you explore other shades of green. Pair a flirty dress or skirt with an army green anorak to create a nice girlie/utilitarian juxtaposition. If military isn’t your thing, thither great colors to try are teal, jade or sage.

“Go Green,” but don’t wear it. Celebrate St. Patty’s day in a more metaphoric way. If you’re heading to work and have a big meeting, a completely sustainable outfit is a great trade off to the Kermit green blouse.

Keep it simple. Jewelry is a wonderful way to work any trend or statement into a day-to-day outfit. Three cool options are the fun and festive Erica Anenberg Lucky Clover Cigar Band Ring, the naturally chic Deborah Grivas Designs Three Strand Green Turquoise Bracelet, or the lucky Ettika Wishbone Medley Charms Silk Necklace.

If all else fails, wear whatever you want and tell everyone the color you’re wearing is ‘the new green.”

Be safe and have a happy, fashionable St. Patrick’s Day.
