I know that I am probably speaking for many when I say that I have always had the desire to contribute my efforts toward a greater good, but I have never known how. In the past, I have donated canned food items and old clothing to shelters. While this does make a difference because any little bit helps, I have always wanted to do more. When I turn on the news or read the newspaper, it is hard for me not to feel spoiled. We all have our own problems, but if you have a computer to read this on right now and internet access then you are probably more fortunate than a large majority of the population. Some people do not have a meal to eat or a decent pair of shoes to wear.

Giving back is easier than it seems. Thanks to creative efforts by people like former model turned jewelry designer Courtney Sims, an everyday task such as going shopping could be enough to save a child’s life. About a year ago, Sims launched a chic and affordable jewelry line called Matterial Fix. The line, which features fun and youthful designs, thrives on an effort to better the lives of young girls around the world. 10 percent of all sales are donated to global organizations that stress women’s empowerment.

Matterial Fix was once a pipe dream for Sims, who was in search of a way to create a lasting and positive impact on girls of the world.

“We believe that if you empower a girl, you can change her life and generations to come,” said Sims in an interview with InStyle Magazine. “By investing in their economic potential through education, by delaying marriage and teen pregnancy, and by standing against sex trafficking, the cycle of poverty can be broken.”

Sims, who is also the creator of the Matterial Fix Website, bases each jewelry collection off of travels to different countries.

In the year since its creation, Matterial Fix has featured collections inspired by both India and Peru.

Proceeds from the India collection are donated to Freedom Firm, which is an organization that strives to end childhood prostitution. The organization also works to rehabilitate young girls who have been forced to work in Brothels.

Proceeds from the Peru inspired collection go toward Peruvian Hearts. Peruvian Hearts is an organization that aids in the education and empowerment of young orphan girls throughout Peru.

Sims recently released added 20 new pieces to the Peru collection which we have available for you at Max and Chloe along with pieces from the India collection. Not only do these items go toward a good cause, but items such as the Matterial Fix ‘We Rise’ Pendant Necklace and the Matterial Fix Tangerine Bangle contain messages that will inspire and empower the wearer.

So whether you’re in the market for some new jewelry or you wish to give back, consider Matterial Fix jewelry. Make a difference one necklace, bracelet or ring at a time.
