Wow, we are already reaching the end of March. Where does the time go? As we get older, time seems to move along at an increasingly rapid pace. In just a few months, summer will once again be upon us.
For many people, especially all of you high school seniors, this will be a period of major transition. From Grad Bashes to Prom and High School graduation, you all should be feeling on top of the world right now. Planning for all of these celebratory activities is exciting and a nice change from the norm of going to class and studying. It is a time of celebrating your accomplishments. You finally made it!
Now begins the journey into adulthood. All of you will be gearing up for a new chapter in your life. Decisions on what to do after high school are being made. College applications are being submitted and many people are deciding whether or not to dedicate their time to serving our country, among other things. You are no longer a child. It is a new and thrilling time to discover who you are and who you want to be.
Although you are overjoyed to finally be done with high school, many of you are probably scared as well. For a lot of you, the decisions you make may force you to break out of your comfort zone and even move away from family and friends. You have nothing to worry about. This fear is natural, and it will pass bringing with it a whole new group of memories. The journey is the most important part.
Instead of spending so much of your time and energy dreading the inevitable, how about having one last hoorah? Prom presents the perfect opportunity for this. For one night you get to get all dulled up and feel like the princess that you are. Whether you go with that special someone or gather up a group of your best friends, it is one of the most memorable events of your high school career.
It always upsets me when people do not attend their high school prom. It’s always the same excuse: “I can’t dance,” or “I don’t have a date.” Who cares? Prom is such a hallmark of your life. It is something that you will always remember and be able to reminisce about with your kids and their kids. If you can’t dance, try; if you don’t have a date, go with your friends!
The only valid excuse for missing a high school prom is a lack of funds. Prom can get pretty pricey and a lot of high schoolers may not have a job. There are ways around this though. You don’t have to spend $500 on a dress that you are only going to wear once. Girl, if celebrities can pull off Forever 21 clothing at red carpet events so can you. If you’re going to spend money, spend it on something you can use over and over. It’s all about how you accessorize, and hey, you still have the chance to win a $500 Max and Chloe shopping spree by entering our sweepstakes from now through May 31, 2014!
You may be saying to yourself, “I don’t even know where to start.” Start here. We continuously stress the fact that planning your look around your jewelry will make your life so much easier. To make things easier for you, we have decided to provide a bit more guidance to aid in your prom shopping.
Take the Crystal Fantasy Cuff Bracelet for instance. We have talked about this bracelet before, and we are bringing it up again because it is a prom essential for certain looks. This bracelet is classic and elegant, and the crystal detailing allows for versatility. We recommend pairing this number with something bright and colorful. The shimmer of the bracelet will make you look like a million bucks!
If you are thinking about going with a black dress, accessorizing with pops of color will help your look to stand out. Colorful earrings like the Ben-Amun Silver and Multi Crystal Deco Cluster Earrings, the Liz Palacios Gold Jonquil Crystal and Opal Drop Earrings or the Roberta Chiarella Gold and Light Colorado Topaz Crystal Superstar Teardrop Earrings are some great examples. How great would these look when worn with an up-do and some heels of a corresponding color? Not to mention the fact that these earrings will all go well with your jeans and t-shirt once prom is over!
Finally, if you want to feel like a true princess for your high school prom then you should consider the Seraphina Fancy Filigree CZ Ring. The sparkling ring will be a nice compliment to a baby pink colored dress. Don’t forget the tulle!
