Geometric Jewelry Shapes Up for Spring

Geometric patterns are on the forefront of this year’s trends, showing up in everything from interior design to runway fashion. So, it’s no surprise we’ve spotted repeating patterns, linear shapes and symmetry in some of the most lusted-after jewelry pieces of the season. School might almost be out for summer, but math class is in session.

The hexagonal bib necklace is a shape that countless designers are utilizing, and it has become something of a template for color, texture and different metals. Blu Bijoux’s model comes in a handful of neutral hues including black, navy and gold, and the leopard version adds a charge of texture and detail. A chic collar necklace channels the school yard and puts the finishing touches on tees and sweaters, incorporating the geo trend with gold triangular panels.

Sandy Hyun’s layered necklace takes a page straight out of your old geometry book, combining rigid shapes into one harmonious piece. The designer adds a splash of color and posh textures (think Lucite, Swarovski crystal and vintage German glass) to complete the statement necklace.

Double-finger rings and knuckle rings are also popular platforms for the geometric trend. Since the multi-finger ring can easily clash with other accessories, we think simple is safer. Some of our favorites include the gold bar ring by Ija Designs, SKU’s sparkly infinity ring, and the Warrior Princess Cassandra by Mixology NYC.

Pack a punch: Bita Pourtavoosi’s gold-plated knuckle ring doubles up, showing a symmetrical print within an elongated diamond shape. A formal occasion calls for a bejeweled cocktail ring, like this Janis By Janis Savitt multicolor bauble that plays on symmetry as well.

Class dismissed.
