Traveling In Style
Packing:
1. Pack items individually in small airtight zip-lock bags to keep your necklaces, earrings, and bracelets from getting tangled and scratched.
2. Leave room in your carry-on bag to stash your fine jewelry, where it will remain by your side at all times.
3. Choose your accessories for your airport outfit carefully so you won’t be slowed down when going through the metal detectors at security. Try to accessorize with pieces that are either constructed out of non-metal materials like enamel, or wear items that are easy to remove.
Upon Arrival:
4. Remove your plated jewelry or pearls before you head out to the beach, pool, or jacuzzi. The salt water and chlorine are corrosive elements that will damage the finish of your accessories.
5. Remember that exposing your metal jewelry to sun tan lotion and perfume may cause these items to tarnish if they are not cleaned properly.
Prepare for Departure:
6. Make sure that emptying the safe is part of your check out routine so you won’t forget your valuable fine jewelry pieces in a frenzied rush to the airport.
