Kendra Phillip is a jewelry designer that prides herself on creating delicate, personalized, enduring pieces. At Max & Chloe, we’re obsessed with her soft, detail-oriented, seaside-infused pieces, like her lovely Dragonfly Pendant Necklace and her classic Reversible Cursive Initial Necklace. Max & Chloe was fortune enough to get an interview with Kendra, of Kendra Phillip, who shed light on her past, jewelry inspiration, and her life.
Kendra Pariseault, who, along with lifelong friend Phillip Sowa, created Kendra Phillip, describes her personal style as “classic and fresh” – a philosophy that transcends into her designs.
The following is a small excerpt from Kendra’s interview with Max & Chloe:
Max & Chloe: Where do you go to find inspiration for your pieces?
Kendra Pariseault: I look at a lot of vintage jewelry and I try to seek out classics in everyone’s jewelry box. I like delicate and feminine pieces that speak to one’s individuality. I believe that jewelry should be personal and timeless.
MC: Has designing always been your dream?
KP: When I was a little girl I wanted to be an artist, so yes, designing and creating have always been my dream.
MC: What are some of your favorite designers, jewelry or otherwise?
KP: Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Vera Wang.
MC: What do you do for fun?
KP: I love spending time at the beach and with my family in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Phillip and I grew up together, right on the beaches of Rhode Island. I believe that our line is inspired by our surroundings and definitely from growing up near the ocean.
MC: What is one of your guilty pleasures?
KP: Whenever I am feeling down or need some inspiration I watch “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Great Gatsby.”
MC: Do you have any advice for aspiring designers who want to start their own lines?
KP: Love what you make and do, watch trends but keep a closer eye on what you believe in.
