Playing Dress Up with Jahaira Hooker: Guest Blogger

Hey there!

I’m Jah, editor of the lifestyle blog Chattering Gem and I am elated to be the very first guest blogger for Max & Chloe’s blog, Jewelry Dose, get your daily dose of sparkle!

As you would expect I was positively nervous when it came to selecting a subject - so much to share and so many stunning jewelry to gape over. I quickly settled on what was most comfortable: I decided to keep it simple and honest by creating a wish board and selecting some of the pieces that best represents me…depending on my mood.

I love the idea of simple elegance as well as the rough edges of metal. Lately I find that I am into clean chunky gold pieces inspired by the Michael Kors gold men watch I received for my birthday. Something about chunky gold always makes me feel put together.

And then there are the sharp edges of silver jewelry. I never view silver as being delicate or sophisticated. It’s blunt, its icy, and perfect for when I’m feeling a little daring.

A friend once told me that my style is a true representation of afternoon tea by day and indie band groupie by night. I think that was a compliment.
