Miriam Merenfeld
Designer Miriam Merenfeld's design aesthetic was finely honed at an early age. Born in Venezuela, her parents' occupations as an architect and a painter were a strong influence. Growing up around design, Miriam graduated with a degree in architecture from The Pratt Institute - and soon established herself as a preeminent jewelry designer. Her collections focus on symbolic messages and spirituality, with a foundation in the rules of aesthetic design. Using semi-precious stones and metals, many pieces are constructed specifically for personalization - so that each piece can tell a customer's unique story. She takes pride in giving each piece personal significance, while at the same time juxtaposing and intertwining the beauty of semi- precious stones and metals. Her artistry weaves together the diversity and the individuality that we find in our culture today, incorporating hints of the past and the dreams of the future.
The designer says: “My collections evolve with time. To inspire, reflect and give homage to the culture of the time through aesthetic design is something I strive to achieve.”
Miriam’s designs are well-respected — and the proof is in her success. Miriam's line appears in upscale stores including Bloomingdale’s and Henri Bendel. Additionally, her pieces have graced the necks of the most beautiful women in show business—from Eva Longoria and Ann Curry, the former anchor for NBC News' TODAY show, to Jordin Sparks, Maria Shriver and many more. “It always makes me smile remembering when I met Paula Abdul…a few days went by and she contacted me and said how much she loved my work. I found it beautiful that my art had been admired and was meaningful to her,” says Miriam.
