I only have about one green clothing item in my closet, and it’s not cute. I have been longing to add more green to my wardrobe for a while now, but I always lose focus when I go shopping and end up buying everything except for what I intended to buy. This lack of green is not usually a problem for me until St. Patrick’s Day rolls around. We all know the dreaded consequences of not wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day. If you dare to not wear green, then you are forced to endure constant pinching throughout the night as you try to peacefully enjoy your green beer. For the past couple of years, this has been my fate. This year I wanted a change. For once, I decided to not wait until the last minute to plan my St. Patty’s Day attire. I wanted something cute but on a budget. I browsed through stores with no luck and then it hit me, anti-pinch nail polish. A green manicure is such a quick and easy way to prepare for your St. Patty’s Day festivities, and any green polish will do. Accessorize them with some green jewelry which is so much more versatile than buying one green shirt. Anything emerald would be a good choice. I am currently lusting over the Nugaard Designs Gold and Green Onyx Bib Necklace which I could wear with a plain black t-shirt and be ready to go. I would probably pair the necklace with some emerald studs like the Roberta Chiarella Gold and Emerald Crystal Cluster Earrings. They are a slightly different shade of green, but they would still go well together.
Planning a St. Patty’s Day outfit is simple, so there is really no excuse! After years of pinches, I have finally realized that wearing tacky green hats and beaded necklaces aren’t the only ways to be spirited. Celebrate in style.
Have a great St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
